They were married at the Catholic church in Benkelman, will reside in town where Walter has employment. We wish them much joy and happiness throughout their wedded life. =================== The Benkelman Post and News-Chronicle (Benkelman, NE), Friday, August 23, 1946; pg. 3 STATE LINE RUMOR Miss Agnes O'Brien and Walter Ostdiek were married at the Catholic church, last Tuesday morning, August 13th. A reception and wedding dinner was held at the Pete O'Brien home following the wedding, with immediate relatives and a few close friends. The young couple left for Lincoln and other points in the eastern part of the state, returning Saturday. They will be at home to their many friends in Benkelman, where they were fortunately able to get an apartment. OSTDIEK IN BENKELMAN Benkelman.- Miss Agnes Marie, O'Brien, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete O'Brien, and Walter David Ostdiek, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Ostdiek, were married in St. Joseph's church (sic) Aug. 23 in the presence of the Rev. Frank Sherman, who celebrated the Nuptial Mass. Raymond Ostdiek and Mark O'Brien were servers. Mrs. Mary Glasco, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and Miss Peggy Hardwick was bridesmaid. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Leonard Stritt, and Leo O'Brien, brother of the bride. A wedding dinner was served to the immediate families and few guests in the bride's home. The bride is a graduate of the Benkelman high school and has taught in the rural schools in Dundy and Cheyenne counties for several years, and also worked in a defense plant on the West coast. The bridegroom is a graduate of the Indianola high school and was connected with his father in farming until he entered the army, and served four years in the Alaska Aleutian theater of war. After a wedding trip to Lincoln and Lawrence, the young couple are at home to their friends in Benkelman, where the bridegroom is employed by the O'Brien Oil company.
