Glasco Sun, Dec. 16, 1971, page 1: Mrs. Chloe Louthan Funeral Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. Chloe Louthan were held Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. in the Dean Funeral Home. Robert Priest and Dean Donner officiated. Chloe Eliza Louthan, daughter of James Daniel and Sarah Rebecca Pilcher, was born March 30, 1884, near Glasco, Kans., and departed this life at Ottawa County Hospital in Minneapolis Dec. 12, 1971 at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 12 days. She was united in marriage to Walter Louthan on Oct. 23, 1916. To this union was born four sons, James Edmund, who died in infancy, Max of Lyons, Elza of Woodbury, N.J. and Dick of Glasco. Her husband preceded her in death March 12, 1960. Surviving are three sons; one sister, Grace Pearson, Glasco; four brothers, Frank Pilcher, Humboldt; Lester Pilcher, Glasco; Ray Pilcher, Pittsburg; and Gaylord Pilcher, Bennington; and five grandchildren, Ronda, Philip, James, Mary Jo, and Saundra. Chloe read and studied her Bible daily, but, because of physical handicaps was unable to attend church regularly as would have been her choice. She left a host of friends, who, along with her family, will miss her greatly but all will realize she has been called to her deserved reward with Him whom she loved so dearly. She was a very loving mother whose first thoughts were always of her family and friends to whom she was often quoting her last sincere expression, "God Bless You." Pallbearers were Cecil Runyan, Ross Kelly, Gregory Bates, Leon Budreau, Elwyn Pridey, and Karr Jackson. Honorary pallbearers were Leo Adkins, Ray Colton, Calvin Daugherty, John Harper, Virgil Lagasse and Herman Bates. Virginia Halderson, organist; LeRoy Budreau, singer. Interment was in Glasco cemetery.
