Obituary Furnished by Friend Cheryl White # 47328595 ------------------------- ∼ From the Delphos Republican February 10, 1922 Louis Cyrus Pilcher was born February 17, 1879, six miles northeast of Delphos, and departed this life at his home in this city February 3, 1922. Pneumonia was the cause of his death. It was thought at one time during his illness that he was improving, but this proved to be only temporary and in a few days the Ruthless Reaper claimed him. On June 15, 1904, he was married to Miss Agnes Dillon, who is left to mourn his loss. Seven children were born to them, all living, as follows: Earl Vincent, Lela Mae, Leo Rosco, Thelma Louise, Marjorie Agnes, Maxine Cecelia and Gerald Robert. Beside his wife and children he leaves his father, J.H. Pilcher, seven brothers and two sisters, who are: Frank of Mt. Ida, Kas.; Harry and Robert of Delphos; Will, Lester, Ray and Gaylord of Glasco; Mrs. Chloe Southan of Glasco, and Mrs. Grace Pierson of Concordia. The deceased has many friends, who with the relatives, will mourn his untimely departure. It seemed a great pity that in the prime of his manhood, when his family needed him so much, that he must give up life, but such is the uncertainty to this earthly existence. At the time he was taken sick he was buying grain here for a firm in Miltonvale, but for a number of years he had been in the elevator or grain buying work. He was highly esteemed by his business associates for his honesty, fairness, generosity and amiability in all his dealings. He was a kind husband, father and friend. The deceased was a member of the IOOF, the Benevolent Benefit Association and K. of P. lodges. A large number of friends were at the church to show their respect for his memory and their sympathy for the family. The funeral services were held Monday, February 6, at the Catholic church in Delphos, and interment was made in the Glasco Cemetery. 'Twas only a glad "Good Morning," As he passed along the way, But it shed the morning glory Over the livelong day.
