Bio
Joe J. Nors, 73, of Hillsboro died May 31, 1995, at his residence. Rosary was recited June 2 at Edens Funeral Home Chapel in HIllsboro with Rev. A. J. LaFleur, O.S.A. officiating. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 3 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Rev. A.J. LaFleur, O.S.A., as celebrant. Interment was at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Mr. Nors was born April 29, 1922, in West. He was the son of Joseph Nors and Agnes Kolar Nors. He grew up in West and attended Kirby Public Schools. Mr. Nors served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1946. He married Mary Ann Hutyra on February 11, 1946. She preceded him in death on February 28, 1995. Mr. Nors farmed in the Vaughan area until 1964 when he moved to the Hillsboro area and worked for the John Deere Implement Company and farmed. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro and KJT Lodge #109 in Hillsboro. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Joe and Nina Nors and Tommy and Annette Nors of Hillsboro; one brother, Edd Nors of West; seven sisters, Frances Polansky of West, Agnes Hutyra, Christine Bornik and Irene Mach all of Dallas, Josephine Zmolek of Forney, Margaret Girard of Waxahachie and Hattie Kuyawa of San Antonio; two grandsons, William Nors and Bobby Nors of Hillsboro and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Edward Hutyra, Jerry Nors, George Nors, William Nors, Henry Polansky, Eddie Smajstrla and Rick Smajstrla. Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Sherek and Royce Trimble.
