Edward (Edd) Nors, age 82 of West, passed away early Friday morning, June 27, 1997 in West. A rosary was recited at 2 p.m. June 29 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2:15 p.m. June 29 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Melvin Dornak as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Nors was born January 13, 1915 near West, the son of Joseph and Agnes Nors. He married Frances Kubacek on October 23, 1939 in West. He farmed for a living until he moved to West in 1971. He then went to work for the West Independent School District as a custodian and bus driver, until he retired in 1982. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, K.J.T. Society No. 31, and St. Anne's Altar Society. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids, woodcrafting, fishing, Czech music and playing his accordion. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe J. Nors, and a granddaughter, Monica Matus. He is survived by his wife, Frances L. Nors, of West; four sons, George Nors, Sr. and his wife Fran, Jerry Nors and his wife Elaine, and Edward J. Nors, Sr. and his wife LIsa, all of West, and James Nors and his wife Joan of Ennis; four daughters, Dorothy Matus and her husband Clarence of Bellmead, Bernice Holder and her husband Rodney of Aquilla, and Annie Dudik and her husband Harry, and Mary Sulak and her husband Edwin, all of West; seven sisters, Hattie Kuyawa of Converse, Agnes Hutyra of Mesquite, Frances Polansky of West, Josephine Zmolek of Forney, Christine Bortnik of Dallas, Margaret Girard of Waxahachie, and Irene Mach of Duncanville; 27 grandchildren, David Matus, Rebecca (Matus) Lopez, George Nors, Jr., Rita Nors, Julie Nors, William Holder, Daniel Holder, Jonathan Holder, Jacqueline Nors, Jeanine Nors, Jennifer Nors, Jessica Nors, Jamie Nors, Joseph Nors, Jerome Nors, Karen Nors, Sherry Dudik, Ricky Dudik, Randy Dudik, Edwin Sulak, Jr., Chad Sulak, Cody Sulak, Shana Sulak, Edward Nors, Jr., Misty Nors, Jeremy Nors, and Alicia Nors; two great-grandchildren, Jared Holder and Cheyene Sulak; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were David Matus, George Nors, Jr., William Holder, Joseph (Jody) Nors, Ricky Dudik, Edwin Sulak, Jr., Edward (E.J.) Nors, Jr., and Jerome Nors.
