Sturgis --- Mrs. Agnes M. Bruch, lifelong resident of the Sturgis area, died at her home Tuesday, following a long illness. She was born in Sturgis Jan. 17, 1887, to Henry and Margaret Karrels. She grew up in Sturgis, and was a member of the first graduating class of St. Martin's Academy. She married Henry S. Bruch on Sept. 27, 1910. Mrs. Bruch is survived by three daughters: Marylou and Leona, both of Sturgis, and Mrs. Bernadine Heidgeiken, Rapid City; six sons: Anthony and Bernard of Sturgis; Francis and Clarence, Newcastle, Wyo.; Joe, Stoneville; and Henry, Bear Butte Valley; 28 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers: Henry, Vic and Clem Karrels, all of Sturgis; and two sisters: Mrs. Tillie Johnson, San Pablo, Calif.; and Mrs. Margaret Pierce, Rapid City. Mrs. Bruch was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Msgr. Leo Feuerbach officiating. There will be a rosary Friday at 8 p.m. at the F. O. Jolley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery at Sturgis. From The Rapid City Journal - August 6, 1969
