Bio
Mass of the Resurrection for Clement H. Karrels will be recited Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Sturgis, with the Rev. Frank Vallo officiating. Karrels died at Sturgis Community Memorial Hospital Wednesday evening following a lingering illness. A Rosary Service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the F. O. Jolley Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. He was born Jan. 15, 1900, at Sturgis to Henry and Margaret Karrels. He ranched in Bear Butte Valley, east of Sturgis, until 1951 when he moved to Sturgis. In 1968, he entered the Sturgis Community Memorial Nursing Home where he lived until his death. Survivors include one brother, Henry Karrels of Sturgis; one sister, Margaret Pierce of Rapid City; and several nieces and nephews.
