Bio

Sturgis --- Requiem mass will be sung at 10 a.m. Tuesday for Louise Karrels in St. Francis of Assisi Church here. The Rev. Gilbert Stack, O.S.B., of Bethlehem Cave, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery under the direction of the F. O. Jolly Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Miss Karrels died Sunday morning at the Community Memorial Hospital here. Born Dec. 4, 1895 in Sturgis, she has lived here all her life. She was graduated from St. Martins Academy, was a life-time member of the Catholic Church here and was active in the Altar Society and other church organizations. Survivors include three brothers, Clem, Henry, and Victor Karrels, all of Sturgis; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Bruch and Mrs. Clara Poss, both of Sturgis, Mrs. Margaret Pierce, Rapid City, and Mrs. Tillie Johnson, San Pablo, Calif., and 24 nieces and nephews. --- From The Rapid City Journal - August 16, 1965
