Bio

Sturgis --- Requiem mass was celebrated Saturday for Victor G. Karrels at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bear Butte Valley with the Rev. Patrick Igoe as celebrant. Rosary was recited Friday evening at the F. O. Jolley Funeral Home. Karrels died suddenly at his home in Bear Butte Valley on Thursday. He was born at Sturgis on July 12, 1902 and was reared on the family ranch which he operated until his death. He was married to Florence Dterman, Nov. 16, 1932, at Paxton. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Immaculate Conception Church for which a memorial has been established. Survivors include the widow; one son; two daughters; two brothers, Clem and Henry of Sturgis; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Pierce, Rapid City, and Mrs. Tillie Johnson, San Pablo, Calif.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery here under direction of the F. O.
