Tuesday, January 5, 1965 The Columbus Daily Telegram Columbus, NE. Pg 6 (Died on Monday, Jan 4th, 1965) Kubicek, Emil. Kubicek Emil Kubicek dies; funeral services on Thursday Emil Kubicek, 54, Shelby, died Monday at St. Mary's hospital. He had been ill about six months. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Catholic church, Polk county, with Fr. G. R. Stoecklinger officiating, and burial will be in the Shelby cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home, where Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was born May 11, 1910 at Valparaiso, the son of John and Millie Novak Kubicek. On Jan. 28, 1942 at St. Bonaventure church, Columbus and they made their hoome on a farm on Rt. 1, Shelby. Mr. Kubicek was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic church. He is survived by his wife, one son, David; six brothers John jr., Alouis and Edward of Columbus, Carl of Glendora, Calif., Joseph and William of Shelby; and four sisters, Mrs. Leo (Mary) Glatter and Mrs. Herman (Rose) Gable of Shelby, Mrs. James (Helen) Alt of Columbus and Mrs. Marvin (Lillian) Dawes of Osceola. Kubicek Services—Funeral services for Emil Kubicek, 54 who died Monday in a local hospital, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's church in Polk county. The Rev. G.R. Stoeckinger officiated, and burial was in the Sacred Heart cemetery at Shelby. Pallbearers were Kenneth Kubicek, Jerome Gabel, Gary Glatter, Alvin Haesacker, Dennis Kubicek and Rodney James, all nephews of the deceased. Relatives and friends attended from Hastings, Eddyville, York, Shelby, Osceola, Humphrey, Cedar Bluffs, Stromsburg, Morse Bluff, Brainard, Bruno, Fairfield, Omaha and Columbus.
