Christine "Crissie" A. (Cox) Hover, was born Jan. 16, 1877 in Barron, Barron Co., Wis., daughter of David Montgomery Cox and Elizabeth C. Plummer. She died May 8, 1930 in Barron, aged 53 years, 3 months and 22 days and was buried there in Wayside Cemetery. Obituary MRS. H. M. HOVER Crissie A. Cox was born Jan. 16, 1877, in Sioux Creek township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Cox, pioneer settlers there, and lived in Barron county all her life. She was married to Homer M. Hover on Nov. 5, 1893, and lived on the home farm the rest of her life except for three years in Barron. Six children were born to their union, all of whom survive. She was a Christian woman of exceptionally strong character, loved by all who knew her, a member of the Hillsdale Church of Christ and a teacher in the Maple Grove Union Sunday school. She passed from this life the morning of May 8 in Barron at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Dawson, at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 22 days, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, two sons and four daughters: Carl Hover of Maple Grove, Mrs. Leata Koepp and Charley Hover of Cameron, Mrs. Ethel Dawson of Barron, Mrs. Callie Silvius and Mrs. Ruby Miller of South Ben, Ind.; seven grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Laura Van Valkenberg of Portland, Ore., Walter and Charles Cox of Lewiston, Mont., Harry Cox of Hancock, Frank Cox of Wilton, Forest Cox of Breckenridge, Minn., Mrs. Mattie Hylier of Sparta, and Mrs. Belle Holloway of Maple Grove. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Dawson, and at the M.E. church in this city, the Rev. Alexander McEathron of Island Lake officiating, with interment in Wayside cemetery. All the children were present, also Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cox, son Frank and daughter Eris of Wilton, Harry Cox and son of Hancock, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hover of Niles, Mich., and Mrs. Mattie Hylier of Sparta, besides a very large number of friends from this city and vicinity.
