Ethel M. Dawson, 98, Barron, Wis., died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at the Barron Memorial Medical Center Extended Care Unit. She was born June 11, 1901, in Maple Grove Township, Barron County, Wis., to Homer and Crissie (Cox) Hover She grew up in the Town of Maple Grove. She married John M. Dawson June 28, 1922, in Maple Grove Township. After her husband's death in 1958, she went to work for Uehlin's Jewelry Store in Barron and worked there for 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Barron and belonged to the United Methodist Women. She was involved in the many activities of the church. Surviving are one son, Dean (Caroly) Dawson of Barron; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Miller of Mishawaka, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Dawson, in 1958; her parents; brothers, Carl Hover and Charlie Hover; and sisters, Leta Koepp and Callie Silbius. Services Thursday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Barron, Rev. Harry Naden officiating with burial at Wayside Cemetery in Barron. Visitation at the Rausch-Rockman Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements with the Rausch-Rockman Funeral Service in Barron.
