James "Jim" N. Orr, 74, of Dallas (formerly of Greenville) passed away June 13, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Born March 25, 1937, James was the son of Robert Ransom Orr, Sr., and Alpha Gladys (Puryear) Orr. He was an independent sales representative in the floral supply industry. He was a member of the Texas State Florist Association where he held several offices and served on a number of committees. Along with his passion for the floral business, Jim loved gardening. He was also a member of Salem-Kinser Methodist Church. Survivors include his nephews Ron Orr and wife, Danna of Benbrook and Jerry Bob Orr and wife, Kay of Charleston, South Carolina; niece Debby Orr Cunningham of Commerce; sister-in-law Martha Orr of Greenville; great-nephews Shane and Brett Tarpley of Commerce; great-nieces Emily Orr of Benbrook, Lisa Kemp of Charleston, South Carolina and Jennifer Jones of Columbia, South Carolina; great-great-nephew Kansas Tarpley; great-great-nieces Kaylee Kemp and Jayden and Jordan Jones; and many friends and his floral family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Pallbearers will be Shane Tarpley, Brett Tarpley, Kansas Tarpley, Basil Holt, Steve Roe, and Bob Mixson.
