Born in occupied Moravia by The Austrian Empire in 1851 to Jakub and Barbora Holub. Teresa was the oldest child and made the incredible journey over land and sea to America with her parents. The village was Mnisi and district Novy Jicin. She married John A Svoboda in Iowa.
