Funeral services for Paul John Miller, 84, of Needville, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 19, 2010, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, with Reverend Fred Banda officiating. Interment will follow in Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Needville. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Immanuel United Church of Christ. Paul was born December 4, 1925 in Guy to Henry Miller and Elizabeth Zwahr Miller. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a life-long member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. He was also a member of The Sons of Hermann and VFW Post 3903. He worked and retired from Texas Gulf Sulphur Company in 1982 after 32 years of service and also worked locally as a plumber for over 50 years. He passed away July 15, 2010 at his residence in Needville. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Miller; paternal grandparents, John and Katie Miller; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Annie Zwahr; first wife, Arline Schnell Miller; sons, Kenneth Wayne Miller and Gary Dean Miller; brother, Marvin Miller; sister, Joyce Miller; son-in-law, Ronnie Kunz; brother-in-law, Charlie Gorka; sister-in-law, Jill Miller. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law and close friend, O. C. Bradford. Paul and his wife, Martha, enjoyed many days and nights traveling around to all the local bazaars and dances with O. C. and his wife, Gertrude. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Martha Raesner Miller; daughters, Linda Kunz of Pleak, and Bridgett Bullard and husband, Donald, of Guy; sons, Larry Henry Miller of East Bernard, Kurt Miller of Conroe, Ricky Raesner and wife, Wendy, of Needville, Daryl Raesner and wife, Rita, of Industry, Larry Raesner and wife, Dee, of Guy, Michael Raesner and wife, Elaine, of Needville, and Jesse Sachtleben and wife, Lynda, of Helotes; daughter-in-law, Cindy Miller; 28 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Gorka of Rosenberg; brothers, Irvin Miller and wife, Bernice, of Nederland and Eugene Miller of Guy; sister-in-law, Joy Miller of Guy; along with other relatives and many friends. Paul was anxiously awaiting the arrival of a grandchild and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers will include Steven Kunz, Stormy Miller, Chad Raesner, Josh Miller, Zach Miller, and Dylan Miller. Honorary pallbearers will include Troy Kunz, Cole Raesner, and Nicholas Bullard.
