Bio

Margaret was the daughter of Texas Gov. Oran Roberts. She married Hugh L. W. Spain, on October 07, 1975 in Smith County, Texas. Prominent Daughter of the Confederacy during her active years, and a member of the Albert Sidney Johnston chapter of Austin, where she often held office. She died at the Confederate Women's Home in Austin, Texas. At the time of her death she was survived by two sons, O. R. Spain and Tom Spain of Austin; one daughter, Mrs. Fannie Murphy of San Antonio. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Cook Funeral.
