2-4-1990 Opal Peek Funeral service for Opal Peek, 73, of Brashear, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Burns Officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Larry Vaughan, Jack Smith, Gene George, Rayburn Smith, Carl Smith and Junior Childress serving as pallbearers. The family is scheduled to receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home. Mrs. Peek died at 2:03 a.m. Sun day, Feb. 4, in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1917, in Hopkins County to Jeff and Pearl Millsap Moore. She married John Robert Peek July 11, 1936, in Brashear. He preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Peek was a retired nurse and a member of Brashear Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Joe Peek of Dallas and Benny Peek of Brashear; two sisters, Helen Bays of Sulphur Springs and Velma Vaughn of Brashear; nine grandchildren; and. one great- grandson. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Castleberry and two sons, Royce Peek and Bobby Peek.
