Velma Vaughan A graveside service for Velma Vaughan, 82, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Cumby with the Rev. Charles Ethridge officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Vaughan died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Jan. 13, 1922, in Hopkins County, to Jeff and Pearl Millsap Moore. She married Odis Henderson Vaughan on July 25, 1942, in Brashear. He preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Vaughan was a homemaker and a member of Brashear Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Larry Vaughan of Brashear and Rickey Vaughan of Cumby; one sister, Helen Bays of Sulphur Springs; five grandchildren, Amy Wallace, Kristi George, Rickey James Vaughan, Rusty Ray Vaughan and Ryan Lee Vaughan; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Vaughan was also preceded in death by one sister, Opal Peek, and one brother, R.D. Moore.
