Gertrude Margaret (Uptmore) Barton, age 82, died August 29, 1997 in Dallas. Gertrude Margaret (Uptmore) Barton was born May 16, 1915 in Tours to the late Frank and Sophie Uptmore. She married February 19, 1935 to Ernest Barton who preceded her in death on May 19, 1978. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Frank Lee Uptmore. She is survived by her children, son, William (Bill) Barton and wife Darleen of Payne Springs, Texas; daughter, Helen Conner and husband James of Mesquite; son, Larry Barton and wife Audrey of Dallas; grandchildren, Jimmy Barton, Michelle Conner, Paul Conner, Penny Whitney, Kenneth Barton, Chris Conner, Arthur Barton and Leslie Conner; great-grandchildren, Amber Conner, Justin Whitney, Jacob Conner, Heather Whitney and Lisa Barton; sister, Louise Lucian of Dallas; brother Ernest Uptmore and wife Lucille of West; sister, Haddie Mynar and husband Felix of Tours; sister, Adeline Finn and husband Raymond of Bellmead; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Barton of Grand Prairie, Earline Smith of Payne Springs and Shelly Uptmore of Tours. Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. September 1 with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Services were at 10 a.m. September 2 at the St. Philip Catholic Church with interment following at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Pallbearers were Donald Anderson, Ronald Barton, Raymond Barton, Jr., Donald Finn, Felix Mynar, Jr., Ernest (Inky) Uptmore, Gary Uptmore and Jimmy Uptmore.
