Frank Lee Uptmore, Sr., age 55, of Rt. 2, West died Sunday afternoon, July 16, 1989 in an Arlington hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 18 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West by Rev. Isidore Rozycki. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with Rev. Earl Hedberg as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Marin's Cemetery, Tours. Mr. Uptmore was born December 9, 1933, in Tours. He lived in the Tours - West area all of his life. He was a rancher and farmer and was a salesman for Uptmore Motors for a number of years. He married Shellie Bell on February 28, 1961. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jimmy Uptmore of West and Frank Lee Uptmore, Jr. of Austin; one daughter, Lisa Martin of West; one brother, Ernest Uptmore of West; four sisters, Mrs. Felix (Hattie) Mynar of West, Mrs. Raymond (Adeline) Finn of Bellmead and Mrs. Louise Lucien and Mrs. Gertrude Barton, both of Dallas; and one granddaughter. Pallbearers were Bryant Burleson, Gary Marek, Henry Volper, Joe Steinocher, Ernest Kutscherousky, Willie Helona, Ernest Kudelka and Mike Marek. Honorary pallbearers were all of his friends. The family has designated memorials be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or to the American Cancer Society. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
