Bio

Veta Verna Walston was born on July 22, 1912, in Indianola, Oklahoma to Julia P Worthen and Jesse W Sanders. She was born in Indianola at the height of the towns population, est. 760. Her parents moved the family to the Allen area around 1913. Her mother passed away while Veta was young. She had three brothers, J.T. Sanders, Lloyd Sanders and Leon Sanders & a sister, Alta Starks, Lodi, Calif. JT, Veta, & Alta were Jesse & Pearls children. Leon was Bonnie's son. Bonnie & Jesse were Lloyd's parents. Veta Verna Walston married Kenneth buell Walston on March 19, 1934, in Sebastian County, Arkansas, when she was 21 years old. She had 7 children. 5 boys(a set of twins) & two girls. Juanita is her first born. Billy Joe & Donald Eugene were born in Sasakwa in the mid 30s. Jerry Glenn & Venita Lou where born in Fittstown, OK in the late 1930s. Fittstown is 11 miles southeast of Ada. Twins, Kenneth Gerald & Kennie Buell were born in Byars, OK in 1940. She was a homemaker. She attended College Heights Baptist Church. She would live to see her twins pass away later in life. She was a mother of seven, grandmother of 16, GG to 32, & had 2 great great grandchildren. She lived to be 91, passing away at the Ada hospital surrounded by several of her surviving children. Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were grandsoninlaws & 1 great grandson.
