MRS. S. A. SHIELDS DIED HERE SATURDAY RESIDENT OT THIS COUNTY FOR MORE THAN HALF CENTURY, WAS HEART ATTACK VICTIM FUNERAL SERVICES TUESDAY Mrs. S. A. Shields, 72, widow of the late Stephen Shields, died Saturday morning from a heart attack at her home, 210 Corning Street. She had been ill for the past three years, but her last illness was only a few days. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 o'clock p.m. from Perryman's Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Orville W. Morrow, pastor of the First Methodist Church here conducting the rites. Pall bearers were the nephews, Stanley King, Clifford Branden, Frank King, Clifford King, Roland King of Corning and Arthur Smith of Villisca. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Shields was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, April 14, 1864, the daughter of Sarah Jane Oldham and Wesley Benjamin King. She was married to Stephen Shields near here, March 6, 1887, and has lived continuously in this county for more than 56 years, having coming here with her parents from Illinois. Mr. Shields died here March 6, 1933. Surviving are two sisters, and three brothers, Mrs. S. H. Carr, Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Ida Parker, Los Galos, California, Jas, and Wesley King, Garfield, California, and E. F. King, Red Oak. Mrs. Shields was a member of the Methodist Church.
