Claire Jane (Ballard) Gehardt (1942-2010) HONEY GROVE - A commemorative visitation for family and friends will be held for Claire Jane Gehardt, age 67, of Honey Grove, formerly of Dodd City, at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Mrs. Gehardt passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman. Claire Jane (Ballard) Gehardt was born on November 20, 1942 in Quitaque to parents Lee and Stella (Luttrell) Ballard. She married Ben Gehardt in Floydada on January 31, 1962. She retired from the Circle K Convenience Store in Bonham, where she was the manager. She loved flowers, enjoyed fishing, and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Ben Gehardt of the home; daughters, Christy Gehardt of the home, Brenda Holman and husband David of Honey Grove, and Wanda Cecil and Joe Lane of Bonham; brother, Willie Ballard of Plainview; grandchildren, Jason Stanley and wife Darcy of Windom, Michael Holman of Bonham, D.J. Pool and wife Jacque of Coolidge, Ark., Heather Hendrix and friend Shelly of Durant, Okla., Zachary Cecil of Honey Grove, Mandi Hunter and husband Jason of Windom; nine great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Orvil Ballard of Dodd City, Sam Ballard of Dodd City, and Melton Ballard of Plainview; and great-grandson Jadon Hunter of Windom. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Dodd City Cemetery.
