~ Obiturary ~ Orvil P. Ballard Dodd City - Funeral services for Orvil P. Ballard, 73, of Dodd City will be held at 2 pm. Wednesday, June 5, 1996 at the Wise Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Leathers officiating. Burial will follow in the Dodd City Cemetery. He passed away June 2, 1996 in Calera, Ok. Mr. Ballard was born on April 11, 1923, the son of Samuel Lee Ballard and Willie Estelle Luttrell in Carter County, Ok. He married Lola Watterson on March 18, 1950 in Durant, Ok. He was of the Church of God faith and was a retired employee of Fannin County. He is survived by his wife, Lola Ballard of Dodd City; sons William Watterson of Broken Bow, Ok., David Weldon Ballard and Glen Ballard of Dodd City; daughters; Kathy Thompson of Calera, Ok. Ann Hullum of Caddo, Ok.; brothers; Willie Ballard and Melton Ballard of Plainview, Thomas Ballard of Dodd City, sister; Jane Gehardt of Dodd City; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7 until 9 pm. Tuesday evening.
