Mary Dvorak (Dworshak) was born on 3 March1851, in Bohemia/Austria, to Vaclav and Rosalie Viktor Dvorak. She came to America with her parents when she was only seven years old. The family settled in New Prague, Scott County, Minnesota, where they were farmers. Mary married Jacob J. Frank, II, on 29 June 1875, in the Catholic Church in New Prague, Scott County. They farmed in Scott County; then moved to Renville County, on a homestead that was a mile and a half north of Bechyn. Mary and Jacob had six sons and three daughters. Jacob died on 18 September 1901. After his death, his son, John, took over the family farm. Mary Dvorak Frank, of Henryville Township, died at the age of 79, on 30 May 1930, at 8:15 a.m., in St. Barnabas Hospital, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Her cause of death was gall stones. Mary was one of the oldest settlers of Henryville Township. She was survived by her six sons and three daughters, John, Joseph, Mike, and Jacob of Henryville Township, Henry of Morton, Joseph of Fairfax, Mary (Joseph) Goblisch of Vesta, Katerine (Joseph) France of Pine City, and Anna (James) Subera of Streeter, North Dakota; three brothers, Albert and Mike of Olivia, and Frank of Washington; sister, Katie Lika of Chester, Montana; 56 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. The Reverend Father Jiracek conducted a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, 21 June 1930, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn. Mary was buried, next to her husband, in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn, Renville County, Minnesota.
