Bio
John F. Frank was born on 26 December 1876 (his grave stone says 1878), to Jacob and Mary Dvorak (Dworshak) Frank, II, in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota. John attended a rural Renville County school and lived on the family farm until he retired from farming in 1944 when he moved into Redwood Falls. John married Ludmilla “Emma” Wilt on 24 November 1903, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn, Minnesota. John and Emma had four sons and four daughters. John F. Frank died at the age of 85, at 3:00 a.m. on 11 January 1962, at the Franklin Heights Nursing Home in Franklin, Renville County, Minnesota, where he had been a patient for four days. Three months prior to his death, John suffered a stroke and had been a diabetic. After John's death, his son Edward, and his wife, Gertrude, farmed the family farm. John was survived by his children, Henry of Renville, Mary (Joseph) Wohnoutka of Bird Island, Helen (William) Wohnoutka of Olivia, Edward of North Redwood, and Catherine Frank of Redwood Falls; 34 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Goblirsch of Vesta and Katie (Joseph) France of Pine City; and brothers, Jacob and Henry of Olivia and James of Fairfax. A funeral service for John was held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, where he had been a member for 17 years. The Reverend E. H. Muelierleile officiated. Pallbearers were grandsons, Donald Frank of Renville, Robert Wohnoutka of Olivia, Harvey Wohnoutka of Bird Island, Tony Horejsi of North Redwood, Daniel Horejsi of Morton, and Myron Frank of Danube. John F. Frank was buried in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn, Renville County, Minnesota.
