Bio

James Wencel "Wencel" Frank was born on 10 October 1895, near Bechyn, in Renville County, Minnesota, to Jacob and Marie "Mary" Dvorak Frsank. He married Theresa Brunner on 2 July 1928, in Fairfax. Theresa preceded him in death. James operated a pool hall in Fairfax and then worked for a nursery firm for many years. He retired in 1965. He lived with his nephew, Milo Frank, for several months prior to entering the Olivia Nursing home in December 1970. James was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. James Wencel Frank, of Olivia, died at the age of 75, on 12 January 1971, at the Olivia Nursing Home, in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. He was survived by one brother, Jacob Frank, of Olivia, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Thursday, 14 January 1971, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Father Roman Schafer officiated at the service. Pallbearers were his nephews, Wenzel, Bernard, Arthur, Stanley, William, and David Frank. James was buried in the St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Fairfax, Renville County, Minnesota.
