Jacob J. Frank, II, was born on 15 September 1848, in Germany, to Jacob and Rose Ursula Frank. He came to America and settled in New Prague, Scott County, Minnesota. He married Mary Dvorak (Dworshak), on 29 June 1875, in the Scott County Catholic Church in New Prague, Minnesota. They farmed in Scott County; then moved to Renville County, on a homestead that was a mile and a half north of Bechyn, which they farmed until Jacob’s death. Jacob and Mary had six sons and three daughters: Anna, who was born 18 April 1876, married James Subera, and farmed in Streeter, North Dakota; twin son, John, born 26 December 1877, married Emma Wilt; twin son, Joseph, born 26 December 1877, married Mary Bouda; Michael, born 20 January 1880, married Anna Serbus; Mary, born 2 July 1882, married Joseph Goblirsch; Jacob, III, born 2 February 1892, married Mary Budik; Katherine, born 10 March 1889, married Joseph France; Henry born 13 July 1892, married Josephine Kojetin; James Wencel "Wencel" born 10 October 1895, married Theresa Brunner. Another daughter, Marie, died at the age of eight. Jacob, and his brother, John, both served in the Civil War. When the first church was built in Bechyn, Jacob was the chief carpenter for its construction. He was assisted by Wencel J. Kojetin and other parishioners. Jacob J. Frank, II, died on 18 September 1901, in Henryville Township Renville County, Minnesota. After his death, his son, John, took over the family farm. He was survived by his wife; nine children; three brothers, Albert and Mike of Olivia, and Frank of Washington; sister, Katie Lika of Chester, Montana; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Marie. Jacob was buried in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn, Renville County, Minnesota.
