Bio

Josephine Cecilia Kojetin was born on 1 February 1897, in Renville County, Minnesota, to Wencel and Mary Kojetin. She married Henry F. Frank on 7 September 1914, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn. They lived, raised their family, and farmed near Bechyn. Josephine Cecilia Kojetin Frank, of Olivia, died on Tuesday, 9 September 1986, at the Olivia Healthcare Center in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. Josephine was survived by her five sons, Milo and Wencel of Olivia, William of Bird Island, Henry of Brainerd, and Bernard of Morton; three daughters, Angela (Francis) Elbert, and Rita (Robert) Hilgert and Sylvia Elfering of Bird Island; brother, Wencel Kojetin of North Redwood; sister, Johanna (James) Wertish; 56 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Frank; infant daughter, Ludmilla (Lillian) Frank, and five sisters. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial that was held on Saturday, 13 September 1986, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, was Josephine’s grandson, Father Jerry Frank, who gave the homily. Concelebrants were Father Peter Nosbush, Father Ralph Hayden, and Father Harry Behan. Pallbearers were Josephine’s grandchildren, Tom, Robert, Gary, Steven, and Joe Frank; Douglas Elbert; John Hilgert; and David Elfering. Josephine was buried next to her husband, Henry, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota.
