Robert V. Cantrell Sr. passed away on Sunday, April 27, 1969. He was born June 16, 1893, in Larned, Kansas to Benjamin Tolbert and Margaret Poor, the 8th of 11 children. He lived most of his life in Winfield, Kansas and in Larned when he was very young. In 1918 he trained for World War I at Camp Funston with the Motor Train of the Tenth Division. In February 1919 he was honorably discharged and returned to Winfield where he married Josephine Heflin in December 1919. Robert worked for the Sante Fe Railroad as a Railway Express Agent for his entire career. Robert and Josie had three children: Robert Victor Jr., Albert Victor and Sherrie Ann. He was survived by his wife Josie, three children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at Morris Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Orlan Gilstrap. Pallbearers were Donald Dunbar, Wilbur Barker, Larry Nelson, Verlon Nelson and Abe Elam. Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
