The Wellington Leader June 24, 1971 Mn. R.A. Covey, a long time Arlie resident, died in St. Joseph's Hospital Thursday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. after being in failing health for a lengthy period. She had been hotpitalized since May 24. Mrs. Covey centered her life in the area where she lived, devoting her time to her family, her friends, and her cnurch and helping her husband, a prominent Arlie farmer until his death June 20, 1967. The former Della Pearl Collins, daughter of the late Eli and Ida Latham Collins, was born at Batesville, Ark. September 7, 1897. She and Mr. Covey were married January 13, 1915, at Pottsboro, and 53 years ago moved from Crayson County to Arlie. She had been a member of the Church of Christ since early life. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. S.A. Motsenbocker of Arlie community, five sons: Arvl Winford Covey of Irving, James Covey of Plainview; Rubin A. Covey, Jr., of Amarillo, Fred S. Covey of Wellington, and Bobby Jack Covey of Torrance, Calif., a brother L.I. Collins of Dodson, 17 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
