JOE PAVLU, INJURED IN AN AUTO WRECK, JUNE 24TH., DIES Funeral Services For 23-Year-Old Victim of Highway Collision, Will Be Held at Nada Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Saturday Joe Pavlu, 23, of Garwood, died at 8:30 last night in the Caney Valley hospital at Wharton from injuries sustained in an automobile wreck near Wharton on the El Campo highway, June 24th. In a head-on collision, Mr. Pavlu suffered a fracture of both skull and jawbone. A. G. Faykus, Garwood ginner, in the same car with Mr. Pavlu, suffered a broken hip. J. L.Baker of Bay City, driving the other car figuring in the collision received a broken right leg and fractured jaw.
