Bio
Norbert Alvin Pavlu, 88, of Houston, Texas, passed away April 4, 2019. Norbert was born on January 11, 1931 in Garwood, Texas to Charles and Adena Pavlu. He graduated from Garwood High School in 1950. Norbert was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He joined the service in 1951 until 1955, during which time he served during the Korean War. Norbert met Mildred in California and fell in love, soon married and moved to Houston. They raised a loving family, one son and two daughters. Mildred soon took on the role of being a mother and a homemaker while Norbert worked as an Operator for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant for 33 years. Together they enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, and raising birds. They had a beautiful marriage of 56 years. They were also long time Parishioners of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic church, where Mildred was very involved in the Catholic school. Together their charm and smile set enlightened any given moment. They are survived by their three children and their spouses; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, with Deacon Rob Stevens officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Nada, Texas for the immediate family. Niday Funeral Home
