Bio

Rosa E. Smetak, age 93 of Fort Stockton, passed away Monday, July 7, 1997 in Fort Stockton. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. July 9 at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Geller officiating. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. July 10 at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Agnes Cemetery. Mrs. Smetak was born March 31, 1904 in Frenstat. She married Frank Smetak October 30, 1922 in West. She was a longtime resident of Fort Stockton having moved there in 1944. She was a homemaker and a past member of the Altar Society. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smetak in 1974; two sons, Dan and A.J. Smetak; and two daughters, Rosie King and Estella Smetak. She is survived by six sons, Earnest Smetak, Rudolph Smetak, Ben Smetak, and Junior Smetak, all of Fort Stockton, Paul Smetak of Killeen, and Charlie Smetak of Big Spring; six daughters, Francis Schultz, Lillie Bean, Donna Verette, all of Fort Stockton, Margie Schultz of Stephenville, Rudy Tyson of Camden, Arkansas, and Dorothy Wilkerson of Proctor; one sister, Mary Rejcek of Hillsboro; 31 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
