Bio

Joseph Method Grones, 74, of Dallas, a former resident of the West-Abbott area, died Saturday, January 31, 1981 in a Dallas hospital. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Pubilus Xuereb in the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Grones was a native of Burleson County. He was a retired maintenance man for the Dallas Independent School District. He was a Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Marie Grones of Dallas; two sons, Dan Grones of Dallas and Ron Grones of Mesquite; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Lorene) Holy, Jr., of West and Mrs. Joanne Duke of Lavon; four brothers, Frank Grones of Waco, John Grones of Waxahachie, Lewis Grones of Elm Mott and Adolph Grones of Abbott; four sisters, Mrs. Julie Pracak of Chilton, Mrs. Martha Picha of Fort Worth, Mrs. Rosie Smetak of Fort Stockton and Mary Rejcek of Mertens; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
