Silver Creek Mortuary - "Benjamin George Smetak, Sr., passed away on June 25, 2018, in Overgaard, Arizona. Benjamin was born May 14, 1935, to Rozina Elizabeth (Grones) Smetak and Frank John Smetak in West Texas. He married Dianne and they chose to live and work in Aztec, New Mexico. He was a painter, a heavy equipment operator, carpenter; a regular Jack of all trades. His life purpose was fishing. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was a Korean War veteran. His rank was Private 1 in the U. S. Army. He served his country from October 7, 1955 to October 6, 1961. He is survived by two daughters, one son, numerous brothers and sisters, many grandchildren and great grandchildren and many friends, nieces, nephews and folks that adopted him to be their Popoa! He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, and eleven siblings. Also preceeded in death by his first love Dianne Smetak and his second love, Mildred Smetak". (contributed by "Arizona").
