Born in the village of Pribam, town of Rosice, county of Brno, Moravia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). Lieblinger officiating. The church choir sang and the following served as pallbearers: Joe Capoun, Ed Kudlacek, Emil Kocian, Alois Navratil, Charles Vlach and Adolph Waiss. Mr. Patocka died Friday, Apr. 6, shortly after suffering an attack of heart disease. He would have been 78 years of age on April 12. He was a native of Czechoslovakia, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Patocka. He was married to Frances Rejda June 28, 1896 in Holy Trinity church, Brainard. Mrs. Patocka died August 16, 1937. His survivors include five sons, Frank of Valparaiso, Joseph of Ceresco, Rudolph of Gretna, Nick P. and John of Dwight; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Kriz of Malcolm; and one brother, Frank Patocka, of David City. Mr. Patocka engaged in farming in the Loma vicinity many years.
