s/o John & Anna Sebesta ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obituary provided by Carolyn Brinkmeyer : Herald Coaster, July 28, 1950: Funeral services were held from the family residence Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock for Joe Sebesta, 77, of Fairchilds who died there Monday evening after being returned home from Polly Ryon Hospital where he had been since July 16 following a heart attack. Services were also held at 2:30 at the First Presbyterian Church in Rosenberg, with Rev. J.R. Vilt officiating. Mr. Sebesta was born at Wesley on Oct. 13, 1873 and lived on the farm until moving to Snook where, on Nov. 6, 1895, he was married to Miss Marie Mikeska. In 1911, they moved to Fairchilds where they resided until his death. He farmed and operated a gin there until retirement three years ago. He first suffered a heart-stroke on June 27 and again on July 16, and was thought to be recovered when again stricken. Survivors include the widow; four sons, Willie of Richmond, Walter of Guy, Arnold of Needville, and Edmund of Thompsons; three daughters, Mrs. Milady Walenta and Mrs. Anna Schmidt, both of Rosenberg, and Mrs. Emily Lay of Sealy; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Jakubik and Mrs. Frances Jakubik. Interment was in the W.O.W. Cemetery under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.
