An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Monday, November 26, 1984: Ocie Antha Hoppe, 78, of Coryell City died Nov. 20 in a local nursing home. Funeral services were held Nov. 23 at the Scott's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Restland Cemetery. Officiating at the services was the Rev. Loyd Hall. Mrs. Hoppe was born Nov. 29, 1905 in Ater, the daughter of the late William and Mary Whisenhunt. She married Willie "Bill" Hoppe Jr. on Jan. 12, 1928. They made their home in the Coryell City area most of their married life. Mr. Hoppe preceded her in death on June 30, 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Main Church of Christ. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elva Ozell Gilchrest of Waco. Pallbearers at the services were Amon Hale, B.A. Mitchell, Herman Hardie, Wayne Caldwell and Jack Wicker.
