Bio
Dorothy Frances Jares Polasek, age 89 of West, passed away Monday evening, July 25, 2005 in a Waco hospital. Rosary will be recited 9:45 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005 at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Vincent Chacko as co-celebrants, assisted by Deacon Buddy Shields. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Polasek was born on December 3, 1915 in West to William and Marie Jares. While living in West, Mrs. Polasek was Deputy Tax-Assessor Collector of McLennan County for more than 28 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption and was an active volunteer of various religious and civic organizations. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling and being involved in the community. Her quick wit and enthusiasm will be missed by her family and many dear friends. She is survived by her two sons and their families, Michael and Lynda Polasek of Blue Ridge, and Joe and Missy Polasek of Boerne; grandson, Jared Polasek of Austin; step-grandson, Michael Pierson and step-great-grandson Colin Michael Pierson, both Arlington; a sister, Tana Renze of Whittier, California; and many nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Joe Mashek, Larry Scott, Rick Renze, George Fidler, Jerry Meadows and Russ Willsey. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Kolacek, Pat Urbis, Larry Mashek, Butch Scott, Charles Nemec and David Devers and members of Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday at Kotch Funeral Home. Kotch Funeral Home in West is in charge of arrangements. The West News, West, Texas, July, 2005, page 5
