Bio
Mrs. Vlasta Svoboda, 65, of Tours, died Thursday morning, October 22, in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday, October 23, at the Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 24, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours with the Rev. Bob Hajovsky as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Svoboda was born in Tours and had lived in the Tours area all of her life. She owned and operated Svoboda Grocery with her husband, Henry, until his death in 1963. She continued to operate the business until her retirement two years ago. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours and the SPJST Lodge No. 66. Survivors include four brothers, Frank Pavlicek and Joseph Pavlicek of Rt. 2, West, James Pavlicek of Rt. 1, West, and Edward Pavlicek of San Antonio; two sisters, Bessie Pustejovsky of Abbott and Frances Ender of Chilton; and several nieces and nephews.
