Bio

Joseph P. Cinek, 94, of Route 1, West, a retired farmer, died Wednesday afternoon in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 1980 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. Bob Hajovsky as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Cinek was born in Lavaca County and had lived in Fayette County for a few years. He had lived in the West area for 80 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, SPJST Lodge No. 54 and KJT Society No. 31. He married Bertha Grossman in 1907. She died in 1967. Survivors include three sons, Alfonse Cinek, Ervin Cinek and Robert Cinek, all of West; four daughters, Mrs. Hettie Sulak of Fort Worth, Mrs. Ida Dolezal of West, Mrs. Willa Mae Neckar of Tours, Mrs. Irene Pustejovsky of Arlington; two sisters, Mrs. Albina Bartosh of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Pauline Jansky of West; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
