Bio
Hermina Bezdek, 85, of West, died Wednesday, October 21, 1988 at West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with Rev. Walter Matus as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Bezdek was born in Penelope. She lived in the West area for about 50 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and KJZT Society #11. She married Ludwig Bezdek November 9, 1926; he died January 5, 1983. Survivors include one son, Ernest L. Bezdek Sr. of West; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Doris) Konvicka of Waco; one brother Jim Holacka of West; two sisters, Mrs. Julie Cernosek of Waco and Mrs. Albina Svrcek of West; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Frank Pustejovsky, Albert Burton, Marvin Cepak, Jimmy Holacka, George Sulak, Raymond Kallus, Marvin Matus and Edmund Cernosek. Honorary pallbearers were: Ginger Kutscherousky, Henry Chudej, Tony Chudej, Sue Key, Helen Skerik and Loretta Wernet. The family has designated that meorials be made to the West Rest Haven Chapel Fund or the St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
