Bio
Mrs. Rose Vitek, age 78, of 1013 N. Marable died Thursday morning at West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 1985 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Msgr. Frank Miller as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, led by Michael Lyons. Mrs. Vitek was born October 1, 1906, in LaGrange, Texas, to Joseph and Vlasta Polasek. In November of 1949 she married Joe Vitek. He preceded her in death August 25, 1982. She was a retired office manager for Texas Power and Light Company in West. Mrs. Vitek was a member of the West Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America, and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Survivors include a stepson, Dr. Joe Darnell of Abilene; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Barton and Mrs. Leona Nemecek, both of West; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Those serving as Pallbearers were Joe Steinocher, Emmett L. Barton, Jr., Mark Barton, Raymond Nemecek, Jim Greene, and Michael Polasek.
