Mrs. J.R. Polasek Claimed By Death Mrs. J.R. Polasek, Sr., age 72, passed away at her home here at 11:02 p.m. Saturday following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the West Catholic Church, the Rev. E.J. Polcak and Rev. George Doskcil officiating. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lambert Barton, Emmett Louis Barton, Jim Bezdek, Joe Kotrola, Emil Holaska and Rud. Janek. Mrs. Polasek was born in Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States at the age of 12, the family settling at Fayetteville. Mrs. Polasek came to West 41 years ago with her husband, the late J.R. Polasek, Sr. She was a member of the K.J.Z.T. Lodge and was active in the affairs of the local Catholic church for many years. Surviving are one son, J.R. Polasek, Jr. of West; three daughters, Mrs. E.L. Barton, Mrs. John Nemecek and Mrs. Rose Holub, all of West; one sister, Mrs. R.A. Kubena of Fayetteville; a brother, Joe Zdaril of Fayetteville; six grandchildren. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 60, No. 24, Edition 1, Friday, October 28, 1949, page 1.
