Henry H. Popp, age 75, of 310 W. Pecan, passed away late Wednesday evening, June 22, 1988 at West Community Hospital. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 24 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Isadore Rozycki. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Msgr. Ray Widacki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Popp was born May 15, 1913 near West, the son of Frank and Frances Popp, Sr. He married Lois Frances Podsednik in Tours on November 7, 1933. She preceded him in death on July 19, 1985. He owned and operated Henry's Grocery and Market in West from 1933 until retiring in 1977. He was a director of the State National Bank of West. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He is survived by two sons, Calvin R. Popp of San Antonio and Gary Popp of San Diego, California; one brother, Frank Popp of Route 2, West; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were James (Bo) Brooks, Steven Podsednik, Douglas Uptmor, Dwayne Uptmore, Kent Guthrie, and Blane Busby.
