Services Held For West Businessman Joe E. Popp, 65, of West, died Saturday in a West Hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Rev. William Benish as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Popp was born in West and lived here all his life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He owned and operated a grocery for the past 24 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Popp; two daughters, Mrs. William (Irene) Guthrie of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Richard (Jackie) Busby of Ross; three brothers, Frank Popp and Henry Popp, both of West and Bill Popp of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. C.R. (Willie Mae) Blackwell of West; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Robert Popp, Adolph Popp, Ernest Popp, Arnold Peters, Joe Horsak and Ollie Horsak.
