Willie Mae Blackwell, age 59, of 1407 N. Davis St. in West passed away Saturday night, November 3, 1984 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Mrs. Blackwell was born October 11, 1925 in McLennan County. She grew up in West and lived in Waco for about 20 years prior to moving back to West in 1973. She worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Company for 28 years retiring earlier this year as an inspector. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, November 5 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. B.J. Zientek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Terry Walling of Hewitt; two daughters, Myra Frances Bridges of Lewisville and Connie Lynn Frillou of Axtell; two brothers, Frank Popp of Rt. 2, West and Henry Popp of West, and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jimmy Stuckly, Don Wolske, Jerry Compton, Jack Whiteley, Calvin Popp, Richard Busby, Blane Busby and James Teakell.
