Louis A. Nemec, 75, of West, a longtime Waco Veterans Administration Medical Center employee, died January 18, 1987 at West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Jan. 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. Ray Widacki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Nemec was born October 27, 1911, near Cottonwood and lived in the Cottonwood and West areas all his life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was financial secretary of KJT Society No. 31 for 32 years. He was married to Margaret Holy on April 19, 1938 in West. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Louis J. Nemec and Charles J. Nemec, both of West and Thomas Nemec of Taylor; three brothers, Frank Nemec, Emil Nemec and Vince Nemec, all of West; two sisters, Maggie Schroeder of Tours and Adelle Snapka of Mesquite; and 14 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Richard Holy, William Sinkule, Donald Holy, John Kaluza, Jr., David Nemec and Jimmie Nemec. Honorary pallbearers were members of the KJT Society No. 31.
