Joe Nemec, 68, Dies Joe Nemec, 68, of Duncanville, formerly of West, died Saturday morning in a Richardson hospital. Rosary was recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the Rev. William Benish as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Nemec was born Sept. 22, 1909, in West. He married Judy Gerik on Aug. 25, 1937. He was an employee of Lorch-Westway Co. of West for 31 years and retired three years ago. Mr. Nemec was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Holy Name Society, both in Duncanville. Survivors include his wife; a son, Stephen Nemec of Duncanville; a daughter, Ms. Victoria Shurbet of Richardson; four brothers, Emil Nemec, Louis Nemec, Frank Nemec, and Vinc Nemec, all of West; and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Schroeder of West, and Mrs. Adele Snapka of Dallas. Pallbearers were Michael Snapka, Anthony Nemec, David Nemec, Jimmy Nemec, Louis Nemec, Jr., and Dennis Gerik. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 88, No. 27, Edition 1, Thursday, July 6, 1978, page 6.
